Connectivity without compromise

Make secure connectivity as simple as joining a team — so engineers spend time shipping products, not fighting firewalls.

our.story

How Kimox started

Kimox started in 2022 when our founders — former SREs at a fast-growing fintech — spent more time debugging VPN tunnels than deploying features. They tried every mesh VPN on the market and found the same pattern: powerful protocols buried under confusing UIs, pricing that punished growth, and policy models that didn't survive a cloud migration.

They built Kimox to be the connectivity layer they wished existed: WireGuard-grade encryption, identity-first access controls, and infrastructure-as-code from day one. Today, teams from two-person startups to global enterprises use Kimox to connect clouds, clusters, and devices on one flat, encrypted network — without opening a single inbound port.

core.values

What we stand for

Security by default

Default-deny ACLs, continuous device posture checks, and audit logs for every connection. Security isn't a premium add-on — it's the foundation.

Developer experience first

CLI, Terraform provider, and APIs that feel native to modern engineering workflows. If it takes more than five minutes to connect a node, we haven't finished the job.

Honest infrastructure

Transparent pricing, no surprise egress fees, and open-source core components you can inspect and contribute to. We earn trust by showing our work.

Connectivity without compromise

Peer-to-peer when possible, relay when necessary. Low latency, battery-efficient clients, and split tunneling that respects how people actually work.

the.team

Leadership

Alex Rivera

Co-founder & CEO

Former principal SRE at a Series C fintech. Built the first Kimox prototype to replace a fleet of Cisco ASAs that nobody wanted to maintain.

Sana Mehta

Co-founder & CTO

Ex-Google networking engineer. Designed Kimox's control plane and NAT traversal stack. Maintainer of the open-source WireGuard extensions the mesh runs on.

Jordan Blake

VP of Engineering

Led platform teams at two unicorns. Owns the Kimox agent, CLI, and Kubernetes operator. Believes every infrastructure tool should have a `--dry-run` flag.

Morgan Tate

Head of Product

Previously PM for zero-trust products at a major identity provider. Shapes Kimox's policy model and enterprise integrations based on real customer deployments.

Riley Nakamura

Head of Security

Former red-team lead and SOC 2 auditor. Drives Kimox's compliance program, penetration testing cadence, and security disclosure policy.

Casey O'Brien

Head of Developer Relations

Published author on infrastructure-as-code. Runs Kimox's docs, community forum, and the monthly mesh networking office hours.
